Pioneer XDJ-700: File Format & Compatibility Guide
The XDJ-700 is Pioneer DJ's compact standalone media player, designed for smaller venues, home studios, and mobile DJs. Released in 2015, it shares the same audio format support as the XDJ-1000: MP3, AAC, WAV, and AIFF at standard sample rates. FLAC and Apple Lossless are not supported, and WAV/AIFF is limited to 44.1 and 48 kHz. There is no SD card slot.

Common Compatibility Issues
FLAC files are not supported
The XDJ-700 does not support FLAC at all. If your USB stick contains FLAC files prepared for a CDJ-2000NXS2, CDJ-3000, or XDJ-1000MK2, they will not play on this model.

The XDJ-700 does not support ALAC (.m4a Apple Lossless). ALAC files will not appear as playable tracks and cannot be loaded.

The XDJ-700 supports WAV and AIFF only at 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz. Files at 88.2 or 96 kHz will not load. Hi-res downloads and DAW exports frequently default to these higher sample rates.

The XDJ-700 only supports 16-bit and 24-bit PCM WAV. Tracks exported from DAWs like Ableton Live or Logic Pro default to 32-bit float WAV, which the player rejects silently — the track appears in the library but fails to load.

Some recording software writes WAV files using the EXTENSIBLE header format instead of standard PCM. The XDJ-700 cannot parse this variant and will refuse to play the file even if the audio data itself is compatible.

Only uncompressed PCM AIFF is supported. AIFF-C (compressed) files will not play. This is rare but can occur with exports from certain older Pro Tools versions.

AAC files purchased from the iTunes Store before 2009 contain FairPlay DRM. The XDJ-700 cannot decrypt them — the .m4a format is supported, but DRM-locked files are not.

USB devices formatted as NTFS will not appear in the source list. Windows defaults to NTFS for larger drives — reformat as FAT32 or HFS+ before use.
Reformat your USB device as FAT32 or HFS+. On Windows: right-click the drive → Format → FAT32. On Mac: Disk Utility → Erase → MS-DOS (FAT) or Mac OS Extended. Note: FAT32 has a 4 GB per-file limit.
